Yes, article marketing works fantastic with Adsense and that is a fine model if it fits for your sensibilities. I have found creating my own customer and/or subscriber base to be more profitable but Adsense was actually where I first had success with Article Marketing.

On most of my sites these days I use article marketing to get the site off the ground, build the list and help the search engine ranking, but I eventually use other methods of traffic generation as well. Article marketing is just one tool that I use, but it’s a good one, and I definitely recommend it for Adsense. For my Adsense sites I rely on it nearly 100%.

When you write articles and publish them to directories you are allowed to include a resource box. That resource box can have up to 2 links (depending on the directory) back to your web site.

In the simplest terms, a link is looked at by Google as a vote. The more votes your site has the more preference it has in the search engines.

To put it simply: The more articles, the more links, the more your site is viewed as having authority and therefor the better it will do in the search engines.

It should be understood that SEO is an in depth topic. Building links to rapidly or in an unnatural way can result in penalties. So it is advised that you read up a little on SEO or link building with articles before preceding.

The more articles you write the better and longer lasting your results will be. Because results will vary from niche to niche and from writer to writer it is impossible to give a specific number. A good goal might be to write between 5 – 20 articles a day indefinitely. However I have seen significant results from far less.

Think of it like fishing. If you throw a line in the water every day you are much more likely to catch fish every day. If you throw 10 lines in the water you increase your chances of feeding your family by 10.

It is a matter of testing and seeing what kind of results you get with your first 10 or 20 articles. You can extrapolate from there. In my opinion, the goal of every business owner should be to do the work in the beginning until you accomplish the experience and results you need to outsource the process so that you can expand.

There are a number of quality directories out there, each of which can drive traffic and lend some SEO value to your parent site. However, the general consensus is that by far, EzineArticles.com is the best directory for traffic generation.

A few reasons to submit articles to other directories would be as follows:

1. A variety of backlinks.

2. Ezine Articles may not allow articles related to your niche.

3. When using spinning software (to b used with caution), you may want to submit different versions of the same articles to different directories as apposed to submitting them all to the same one which can often get your articles flagged.

Once Your article has published you will typically see some traffic start coming in on the very first day. How much traffic depends on your niche and the keywords you chose to optimize your article for.

If you do not see traffic within the first few days from an article it is not likely that you will see many results for that specific article. It is a numbers game to a certain degree. By writing a number of articles you increase your chances of having an article “stick”. When an article does start to produce traffic you want to promote that article so that you can increase your chances of holding your search engine ranking for a longer period of time.

While the answer to this question could take up an entire course all on it’s own, the simple answer is as follows.

1. Do not try and game the system. Writing good content and publishing it to a few quality directories will give you much better results then using “tricks” to spin or scrape inferior content.

2. Conduct keyword research before writing your articles. You can use Google Adwords tools and other keyword tools to find the best keywords for your site. The key is to look for keywords with high search volume but a low number of competing websites. Optimize your articles for those keywords but don’t have them used more than 2% of the time, or most directories will reject them and they won’t perform well in the search engines.

3. Create a strong call to action in your resource box. Try to create a seemless flow from the body of the article into that call to action.

4. If you are promoting your own website with your articles be sure to use keyword rich anchor text in your resource box.
